We know the technology and knowledge is there, but it's how it is used to destroy nations that is truly terrifying. Tom Clancy had a book 10 years ago or so that talked about how it's possible to figure out how to build a nuclear bomb by just doing internet searches. He fudged the details a little in the book so that his conscience would be clean. So it may not be that bad of a leak - the info's been out there for many years. Normally, only States would be able to put one together. Terrorists would find it much easier to make a "dirty bomb" to spread radiation on a smaller scale.
