Another day of study

It’s heads down again today for more swotting to gain my CIPR PR diploma. I am learning the theory and academic background behind this profession, it is tough and challenging, but I am determined to succeed.

We are working towards our Critical Reading Test which will be set over Christmas. I am looking forward to today’s class, it’s going to cover ethics – yes, we do have those! Blogging even appears on the study notes – how not to do it, focusing on the disastrous Wal-Mart episode involving PR giant Edelman, who was also a blog pioneer. It transpired that a couple writing a blog about their experiences in different Wal-Mart stores as they travelled across America in a camper van were none other than two Edelman’s staff. How smart is that?

I have also signed up to questia as an additional research tool, it is the world’s largest online library of books, journals and articles, it should be very useful, providing valuable info at the click of a mouse, 24/7.

If I had not been stuck behind a desk, I would definitely have been putting my walking boots on, it looks like a great day. Hope you enjoy it too.

  1. I find it difficult to sit still, prefering “arrow mode” for most things… thats why I don’t study.. :o (

I know I should but if i had to choose between the walking boots and study.. I’d walk..
    :o )

  2. Mmmm very commendable . I cannot help but notice that in the blogging fraternity there are so many people that are meeja types that I sometimes wonder if I am the only one not

    a In the meeja
    b Divorced /single
    c Retired
    d Unemployed
    e A Student

I suppose that is inevitable but if its like that in Conservative circles imagine what the Lib Dums are like. Meeja and teacher is the only job allowed in the party rule book.

That was bit mean wasn`t it . I `m just jealous

  3. Best of luck but don’t forget the walking.

  4. Jeremy and WL, I will be very mucy rooted in Cambridgeshire this Christmas, slogging away in pursuit of theoretical analysis and critical thinking, not the most seasonal activity. I have been given a mock paper as my homework today, I’m hoping it will all begin to make sense once I get stuck into it.

  5. Sounds very interesting, Ellee. Do let us know how it went. Buona domenica.

  6. It sounds no way to spend a Saturday, Ellee, but the very best of luck with your studies.

  9. Bon courage Ellee.
