Don't hold your breath over the plates being a good investment for the future. Royal memorabilia does not seem to be so popular as ot used to be, and remember the Edward VIII commerative china that was produced before he gave up his right to the throne. Although this is 70 years old, it still doen't fetch a fat lot.

Exactly - she's a classy lady, whatever some pompous windbag who likes to bask in the reflected glory of royalty says about her.

Cheezy, Isn't the royal pedigree a bit of a mixed bag anyway? I think that Prince William will marry an aristocract, just like his father did first time round.

I didn't hear Whittaker, but I always thought Kate looked lovely, and I never heard any detrimental reports about her behaviour. She was a real credit to William.

Did anyone else hear that unbearable prat James Whitaker on the radio, bemeoning the fact that Kate didn't have the 'pedigree' to be Queen, and was, well, just so frightfully middle-class and common?

If anyone sees his fat face around the place, please be sure to give it a nice working-class headbutt, will you?

Romances come, and romances go...they are no different than anyone else on that score. Let's hope Kate is allowed to get on with her life in peace. William is still too young, in these days, to marry...it was probably the media who buffed and padded up that side of their story, anyway. Any "normal" couple doesn't have this kind of attention given to their relationships...and are allowed to fall in love and fall out of love with all this kind of pressure placed upon them.

I think all that china-ware is going to have to be placed back into the kilns! ;) I'd hate to be in the buyers' shoes! Talk about being presumptous and spending the companies' money! ;)

Ian Lidster - I don't believe Woolworths ever went ahead with this commission - if anyone is selling some on ebay it is probably a scam.

Welshcakes - not sure what you mean about Kate having lots of dosh to help her through..- She isn't that wealthy. Isn't that part of the reason she couldn't take the pressure ?

Oh, they'll definitely be collectibles, and probably more valuable than if the nuptials had gone ahead. I think I was in England when the news of Woolworth's planned commemorative dishes came out, and the word 'curse' ran through my mind.
