Hi Ellee,
Yes I know the price these dentists charge for inplants , daylight robbery comes to mind.
All private work is horribly expensive nowadays.
The dentists must all be getting on to be millionaires .
They cant justify the price but dont need to try as they have us all over a barrel .
I reckon a Scottish friend who was only 15 years old when they took out all her teeth had the right idea .
Now she has a lovely new set once in a blue moon and never has toothache !
She cant even remember now why they had to come out but it seems it was fairly routine up in the highlands at that time.

Georgegirl, I have had an inplant before, it was a very painful experience, the worst I have known since childbirth (and I had a 10lb 2oz baby with no pain relief). The dentist did tell me it wouldn't be so bad for this other tooth, that he wouldn't need to use the hammer!
My sister swears by bridges, but I admit I would prefer an inplant for aesthetic reasons. The last one cost almost £2,000, how they can justify such a colossal price?

To "throw the subject open wider"...
The British habit of "removing one's own teeth with plyers" has hit worldwide headlines...
Having heard all that, I thought the influx of overqualified POLES had stemmed the gap in our NHS dentistry...
evidently not!
Ho hum.
Just thought I would make my political point of the day.
Just remember one less tooth is one less worry!
Take care!!

Ellee if you can yet again afford an inplant ( and if they work on you ) have one.
I went for a bridge !
It was simple and I thought no problem , but it took me ages to adjust to it being there .
Even though it looks pretty small wait till you try putting it in and then getting your tongue and reflexess to adjust to this foreign body.
I used to be Ok till Id had a meal , then if I couldnt immediately go and clean my teeth used find myself in really difficulty ( wont go into the details here )
So if you can go for the proper solution , fill the space with something you dont have to think about , clean seperately , and worry will come adrift .

Hope you feel better soon.

When I get to heaven I am going to ask God 'why teeth?' Or more to the point, why nerves in teeth? Although I've not been hurt by the dentist for many years, I still break out in a cold sweat when I have to go for a check-up.

Enjoy the rest of half-term.

Ooops, seems aging and decay, even tooth decay go hand in hand.

No good crying over spilt milk, or shutting the gate after the horse has bolted, but perhaps we should be able to varnish & protect our teeth (regularly) for the price of a manicure.

Hoping your headache gets better (goes away).
I'm sure a nice foot rub would help send it on its way

Ellee

Poor love!

Tell me is Denplan really worth it in the long-run?

I pay(in London)about £250 per annum on check up's and a hygenist. How much is Denplan cover for the average person?
