I never liked skiing and was hopeless at it. It was the first sport I was ever an absolute dud at.
But many people love it.

Philipa, what a great story, but don’t let that put you off. You must be really good to manage a black run, I’m very impressed.

I only skiied in the States once, my other two trips were to Austria, to Kitzbuhl and Myerhofen, both lovely places. I did love the powder snow in Snowbird though.

Know where you’re coming from there Ellee – I loved skiing, before children, and yes, I did a black run. Sadly this experience wasn’t planned and was very Bridget Jones, very. I did kinda navigate the black run and moguls (2nd day on skis) but didn’t realise that the black run fed into the plateau which formed the top of the main meeting area on which a school party was standing. I took off over this hill round a bend and there they were, just staring at me in mid air. I instingtively recoiled (after landing upright!) and sat on my skis then bowled into them like skittles, mumbling ‘sorry’, ‘so sorry’ in a very British way as I knocked them all flying and careered down the red run to my doom. Actually doom was a bank of beautifully soft powder snow I was able to slew into and end with a slow motion snow angel. Ah, memories

Welshcakes…. Iam scared of sking too and do it very badly but this year i may have a days lesson to help me on my way….I had a week of lesson about 7 years ago and loved them.
