When I was a child I was able to travel cheaply with my parents from Toronto, Canada to the former Yugoslavia. We were en route to Bulgaria, where my father grew up. I recall a thriving, Yugoslavia with Western ties. Playboy magazines and Coca-Cola were being sold, to wit. Today, it is my understanding that 11 provinces with 11 different languages in an often dangerous environment have overtaken what I saew as a child. Gradually in Bosnia, Africa, MIddle East and China regimes are feeling the focued resistance from women demanding to be considered as equals. It will take longer than we'd like. Seems some people will never understand the only way to make a better world is to wish for your 'neighbour' all the best, whichever side of the fence or divide one is sitting on.
