My son pointed out to me this morning that I had misbranded the Nokia N96 by calling it a Nikon N96 - and nobody noticed! So I have just corrected it.

I had a peek at the phone Mike recommends and it looks really good. If Tim or Jeremy could recommend any particular HTC models, I would like to check them out.

Q9, I did almost feel like a spoilt child when I was writing this, that's how consumerism makes you feel sometimes. But we have to keep up with new technology. These phones are getting smarter and smarter - but are we smart enough to keep up with them?

lol Elle,
spoilt for choice?
aaargh nothing is perfect.
Why is it one is always better at something, and the other at something else. I guess life is a COMPROMISE.
But life does almost beg for something that is definitely & comprehensively superior.
The only problem is there is always something better coming up just around the corner.

I guess as with marriage, we all need to learn to be happy with the choice we make (or made) rather than wondering whether we made the right choice.

I have the same proclem choosing my next car. They all have four wheels plus the steering wheel and a 'spare' - but should I go for a 'sporty' two plus two? or
will little Etta feel that she has been left out? (no room for kids) -lol!

Hi Mike,

I hope you find some of these tips helpful too. I shall check out the Sony Ericsoon as well. It makes it more complicated for me if I have four models to choose from.

I hope to catch up with you soon at Toastmasters.

Hi Ellee,

I have a similar decision coming my way soon... I was taken by the iPhone butnow one of my so-called friends has muddied the waters by mentioning the Sony Ericsson X1 www.sonyericsson.com/x1/ - I now have a choice to make and he is now an unpopular git! ;-)

Best of luck with YOUR choice... I'll let you know in the new year which one I get.

As far as I'm aware, the iPhone doesn't have turn-by-turn sat nav at the moment. Nokia have Maps which is a subscription-based application.

As you're a walker, I can also tell you that there's a bit of software for tracking your position, so if you go for a walk somewhere, it can log your GPS positions, which you can then plot.

Thanks for the feedback. I like my phone to have a good camera as I do use it. I think the Nokia phone even has a built in flash.

I haven't used my phone for emails - yet. Mainly because I don't like the buttons on the phone I presently have. It would be good to have a sat nav too. I just hope all these applications are easy to understand for a novice.
I hadn't thought about HTC, it looks very sleek.
I think the Nokia has the edge at the moment. I will have to try them both out in stores before I finally decide.
