Robert Sturdy urges G20 leaders to promote free trade

My MEP Robert Sturdy is a key international trade spokesman and in this video he explains why we need to increase free trade across borders globally and do away with protectionism to help recover from the recession. Is that what G20 world leaders will have in mind when they meet this week?

  1. The problem with last week’s G20 PR campaign was that any short-term benefits it generated will do more harm than good. Once the lack of substance behind the claims of founding a “New World Order” are exposed, the feel-good factor wears off. I have posted a PR blog on it here:

  2. I do hope the world leaders don’t miss the opportunity to move things forward, but I do fear they will.

I was so disappointed that I was unable attend the demonstration with my friend and colleagues in London yesterday.
