Mrs Raft, I take my hat off to David Howarth too, and am very grateful for the support he has given the organisation I am involved with, Headway Cambridgegeshire. We all much appreciate his interest.

I would apply, but I’ve met David Howarth and he’s a darn site cleverer, braver and more eloquent than I’ll ever be, even if he is a Lib Dem. He is also exceptionally good at communicating with both academics and members of the public.

I’m slightly prettier, but it’s a close-call.

The Conservatives could theoretically take Cambridge, but they’ll have to come up with one heck of a candidate and it had better not be another show-pony like Nadine Dorries.
