(College campuses must seem like a 24/7 pajama party some days.) But one also does see the occasional person who is old enough to know better in the grocery or a discount store -- and it is never, in such cases, anything other than frightening to see. Perhaps the ban you write about could exported to America? They have worn these clothes all night in bed and then cant be bothered to get dressed its just slob behaviour . No sense of self respect comes to mind . And that bit about " how difficult it is to get three kids ready for school without getting dolled up yourself " ! Years ago working class women and men wore proper clothes all the time ( including best boots on Sundays )however poor they were . The men wore jackets or suits plus hats and the women frocks , hats and aprons . They wouldnt have been seen dead at their front door in their nightware never mind go down to the shops in such garb. No wonder their children often are so lacking in social skills and graces. Good on Tescos, this sort of get up in a food store is repulsive.
