I have had an unexpected ranking in the top 100 best green bloggers list at No 23, just one below leading environmentalist Tony Juniper.
It was compiled by The Daily (Maybe) in response to Iain Dale’s Guide to Political Blogging. And it seems I could be the only Tory listed.
Thanks Jim, I was chuffed to be included, I am delighted that green issues are now high on the political agenda and expect to see a few more “turquoise” Tories included in next year’s compilation.
I think I should congratulate you (I think) – but, I’m confused now, does this mean your green now, or are you blue, with a bit of green? Or greenie-blue, or bluey-green?
I don’t see how you can be both – for example, greens are against consistant economic and industrial growth (witness the protest to closed down all of Britain’s coal-fired power stations). They are also against the expansion of the aviation industry (witness Plane Stupid lastest campaign). I find it difficult to believe a ‘true’ blue could go along with such policies.
Isn’t there a contradiction?
Good luck with Dr Hans Blix today – I haven’t got a clue what you should ask him – ask him round for dinner maybe? Emm.. maybe not.
Well done, Ellee on being recognised. Your blog has a lot of fans.
Courtney, I am a Conservative with strong environmental beliefs, I’m sure there are lots more of us around too, besides David Cameron. I know John Gummer and Tim Yeo are, for example.
