I wonder if escaped killer Mark Ryder wore a niqab when he fled the UK for Spain almost three months ago. He gave prison guards the slip while on a shopping trip in Debenham’s in Cambridge – and headed for a life of sun and Sangria.
So what did he do in all that time, who assisted him with his escape? How did he obtain a fake passport and leave the country ? Or did he manage without one? Does this inspire confidence about security at our border controls? Can we be sure that none of our latest EU citizens are not on wanted lists back in their countries?
Doesn’t it make you curious about how many killers are on the run in the UK? I hope local MP Richard Spring can facilitate some answers on this outrageous matter. He has quite rightly described the Home Office as “chaotic” and will be seeking clarification on this case as soon as parliament resumes.
Do you also have concerns about security at our border controls? How do you feel about killers being able to slip the net so easily? What does it say for our Home Office?
It has always been easy to obtain fake documents should you need them desperately. Another reason not to waste money on the ID card scandal. I don’t know how people do seem to escape so easily; I thought all out police forces had face recognition systems at Airports and Ports now to prevent this happening.
Yes I’m concerned about our apparent lack of security at “border” crossings. Home Office = gross incompetence?
Why was a convicted killer on a shopping trip to Debenhams in the first place!?!
Was he looking for some new furnishings for his cell!?!
Our government in NSW has put a bounty on the head of an alleged killer. This reward is for the arrest and not conviction. First time since Ned Kelly.
Malcolm John Naden. He is wanted in connection with the murder of 2 women in the Dubbo area.
Trouble is the man is hiding out in the community in western NSW ( So the police believe).
I think the fact that criminals can roam free is an indication of the community that exists around them. (A point made in following the blog about US murdered prostitutes and why they have not found the killer).
So perhaps UK needs to look at the reasons why a killer found it SO easy to escape…is it for the same reason?
(Am I making sense??)
Simon, Ned Kelly, now there’s a name from the past.I guess you have done well in your county not to have posted a reward since then.
I have no idea how many killers have escaped from our prisons and are still on the run, it’s amazing that this killer was caught in Spain. I have no idea why he was allowed to go shopping in the first place, especially as he has given his guards the slip before, so I’m not sure if it was the same reason as your case.
