The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has the best ecclesiastical website I have seen to date, packed with interesting personal information about his life and regular updates about his official holy duties which take him all over the world.
He is also very keen on the social media, and in this video he urges Christians to use their vote on 6th May, describing it as “a Christian duty”.
The three party leaders appeal to Christians for their support in this Christians in Politics video, and there is an introductory message from the Archbishop advising them why they should go to the polls.
“Christians have a duty to God, a duty to their nation, a duty to their neighbour – and voting is one of those duties,” states the Archbishop unequivocably.
Here ends the lesson for today….
Voting is a Christian duty? NO IT IS NOT!!!
There is nothing more annoying to me than men with an agenda trying to use the authority of God to further that agenda.
If people don’t vote, they can’t blame the government that gets elected.
Render unto Caesar…
‘Jean-Luc Picard’ putting a comment like that makes me think of ‘engage!’
Made me smile.
There is nothing more annoying to me than men with an agenda trying to use the authority of God to further agenda.
