By the time I caught up with our inspirational candidate Vicky Ford this morning, she had already visited two villages near her home to encourage as many voters as possible to get to the polls.
Among the people she met was an elderly lady in her village who was very distressed about a mobility problem which made her a prisoner in her own home – and Vicky straight away picked up her phone to try and resolve this issue. You can find out what happened by listening to this video.
Good luck to Vicky. Sorry she doesn’t cover our area.
Local politics is so refreshing compared to the national version don’t you think Elle? Nice video. Here’s one from the other side of the country and the other side of the political fence http://lukepollard.net/ but proof that social media is really oiling the wheels of democracy I think.
David, I’m glad you liked the video. I enjoyed watching the red tractor video, thanks for the link. This is exactly the way I want to work too and Vicky is a natural in front of the camera, which is a huge bonus.
She’s very good. How did she get on?
David, the count is on Sunday evening and I shall be there. She is No3 on our list and we are hopeful. I have tried changing the screen image to a more flattering one, but it seems to have stuck, along with the number of hits. Vicky really is amazing.
Keep us informed.
James, yes, will do. You can never take anything for granted in politics. We are very much hoping Vicky will be elected. She is outstanding.
Great illustration of the importance of local politicians working for their community. Lets see if Europe can cope with her!
