I hosted a dinner party for three Conservative PPCs last night, North West Durham candidate Michelle Tempest, Liz Truss who is standing in nearby South West Norfolk, and author Louise Bagshawe, who is hoping to turn Corby blue.
I bet you would have liked to have been a fly on the wall, but Chatham House rules prevailed. Suffice it to say that there was only one topic of conversation all evening beginning with P. You will hopefully be seeing and hearing a lot more of these terrific women after the general election, and do look out for a glammed-up Michelle in a forthcoming edition of glossy Grazia featuring Conservative women candidates.
*Michelle has written about the evening on her blog too.
I bet the conversation was terrific – as was the food! Yes I wish I’d been a fly on the wall Ellee – look forward to hearing more…!
Hi Flowerpot, as it was a frosty night, I thought we needed some warming comfort food, so I cooked butternut squash and ginger soup, roast lamb with lentils and red wine, followed by Nigella’s chocolate and pear pudding with chocolate sauce, and tropical fruit salad.
At least LB will get some good material for her books from a Parliamentary career
Im told on the internal grapevine that Tory Central Office are far from sure of an outright victory and instead think it likely to be a hung parliament !
That would be the worse possible outlook for the economy .
Some of you may notice I have changed the pic. I couldn’t decide which one to post and wasn’t going to include one with me, but have been persuaded to.
I never saw the former pic, but the one you have up looks great!
Since I know the lovely and profoundly intelligent Michelle from blogging, I can only wish her the best.
It sounds like you had a fun time 🙂
Yes, I bet you had fun. How I love these warm meetings!
I know you are all brilliant, and apparently lovely as well!
The two at the right side look like sisters.
I would loved to have been there.
