I have been included on Miliband’s blogroll too

I had no idea until now that I had also been included on the Environment Secretary’s updated blogroll. I found out via Guido’s post, and all the hits it was bringing my way. I simply never expected it, especially after blowing the whistle on how much it cost David Miliband to set up his blog.

I do have a few green credentials, and enjoy highlighting environmental issues. Minister Miliband is obviously a man of impeccable taste!

Update: Is this just a case of sour grapes?

The grass isn’t always greener ….

I hope today’s women who are dissatisfied with their  appearances will spare a thought for those less fortunate than themselves - and I am talking about Caprice, Britney Spears and Kate Moss.

There can be few men who haven’t lusted after the charms of Caprice, now said to be on suicide watch following a suspected drugs overdose. Her friend says: “The fame and family she so desperately craves have eluded her.”

And Britney is pitifully reduced to shaving her head to attract headlines, there are fears that she is rapidly heading for a nervous breakdown.

The once elegant Kate has a far from flawless complexion, who knows when  her luck will run out.

So to those who fret constantly about their appearances, just remember you probably have the peace of mind and a loving family that eludes so many famous  cover girls. The chances are they envy what you have. While glamorous looks may have been the passport to their fame, it is a person’s inner spirit and beauty at the end of the day that is eternal, however corny that sounds.

The rise in stick thin models is said to be the cause for women’s increasing dissatisfaction with their bodies, we need to see curvier models on our catwalks and in our glossy mags to reflect the real women out on the street. It’s hard to understand why women think being size 12 is overweight, I’m delighted to hear that John Lewis is leading the way with a size 12 model to promote its swimwear.

Why do you think Caprice and Britney have fallen on such hard times when they seemed to have it all? Why can’t some stars cope once their career begins to slide? Do you feel sorry for them?
