Ylenia Carrisi is the daughter of Italian singer Albano Carrisi 
and Romina Power, whose father was the American actor Tyrone Power.
Ylenia was last seen in the French Quarter of New Orleans in January 1994 which she was visiting. She was 24.
At the time of her disappearance, Ylenia was staying in a hotel with street musician Alaxander Masakela. Masakela was arrested, but eventually released for lack of evidence to connect him to Ylenia’s disappearance.
The only other possible lead was a security guard who saw a woman, vaguely matching her description, jump into the Mississippi River. A coast guard search turned up no sign of her body, which may have been washed out to sea; and it has never been established that the person was in fact Ylenia, however.
Police searches have revealed nothingd, but bizarre sightings of her, like this recent one have been well publicised in Italy. Her mother still believes she’s alive while Albano has stated that he believes the security guard’s story.
Ylenia was the hostess on the Italian version of Wheel Of Fortune in 1989, and was regarded as something of a celebrity in her native country.

It is significant Albano Carrisi believes Ylenia committed suicide. The NOPD in their background investigation must have uncovered mental health issues and their scope; suicidal gestures, full blown suicide attempts such that the story of a witness with no axe to grind rang true with him.
In Romina Power’s belief that Ylenia lives in hiding these 13 long years w/o contacting family is an inference of a studied cruelty and callousness no loving daughter would inflict on her mother.
I can not believe that is the price of hope.
Daniel, From what I remember from reading the newspaper articles, the inference was that Ylenia was under the influence of drugs, it if was her that jumped in the river. It’s certainly a very tragic story, she is so beautiful, and her family still suffer by not knowing her fate. Every missing story is heartbreaking, the grief never ends.

The Ylenia Carrisi case is not closed at the NOPD. We investigated since many years this case, followed all tracks.

ylenia was seen in Saint Augustine, Fla; I do not know if she was travelling, but she was there with a man called Chet, back in spring 1994; So she might have lost her memory for a while after that, but for sure she didn’t drown in the mississippi river. I am in New Orleans on vacation right now and wondered if Ylenia Carrisi was possibly drugged and experienced amnesia at the time of her disappearance? There is a homeless woman here that I have seen every night since I arrived on Friday. I attempted to give money to on two separate occasions during my visit and very much to my surprise, she turned it down. She didn’t want the money. She seems to be mentally ill and quite possibly like someone who is out of touch with reality. She is caucasian and doesn’t look like a drug user to me… more like someone who has given up on living a traditional life. Just last night I took her a large to-go container of food and placed it beside her. I thought since she refused to take my money, she might be willing to accept the food. It occured to me this morning that this woman could very possibly be Ylenia Carrisi when I saw that a friend of mine posted a Romina & Al Bano music video on his Facebook page. I started connecting the dots about their missing daughter and thought … OH WOW!!! This could be her! I am aware that Ylenia is one year younger than me, but she looks about 10 years older. I believe that a hard life and mental illness would have aged her this much faster.
Please don’t think that I am a crazy person who is looking for attention of publicity of any kind whatsoever. I am simply a mother of three who cannot fathom the thought of one of her own children disappearing. My heart has always gone out to women who are on the streets for one reason or another and I’ve often wondered what could have caused them to end up there. This woman has dark brown hair, fair skin and green eyes. She covers up her face and head when she is sleeping and I guess that is so people passing by won’t be able to tell if she is a man or a woman. The only reason I saw her face at all is because I nudged her several times to wake her up so that I could hand her the money. She removed the blanket from her head and face and looked at me. When I held the money out for her to take, she nodded and said, “no.” I immediately noticed that she was wearing a descent looking white watch, which struck me as odd but I didn’t read too much into it. When she refused to take the money, I told her that God loved her and cared about her very much and that I cared too. She looked away from my face and nodded in what I perceived to be a jaded or sarcastic gesture … as though she had been let down by God. She covered up her face and head again and I got back up on my feet. I became very emotional and joined my family who was waiting for me across the street.
I’ll be checking up on her again tonight. I have no idea where she goes during the day, but I think this is definitely a lead worth following. I would photograph her face and send it to you to look at, but I worry what she might do if I did. The police in this town are so busy with minute to minute crime that Ylenia could very easily have gone under the radar all these years if she took to living on the streets. The homeless are definitely the forgotten people in this city.

I dont believe that a loving daughter would keep her mother without any news for so many years. Unless she had an accident and she doesnt remember anything, but people around her would certainly know who she is. Again, i dont believe that Al Bano would have her alive and keep her like in a prison, come on people … we know this can’t be true. About the security guard…was there any other woman missing at the time of Yilenia’s missing? I guess not. So, most probable, she had and accident…it is terrible to accept that, especially for a mother. I wish she will come home one day, to smile to her mother. You should pay more attention to the story of the security guard. If you see a young girl drowning before your eyes and you are a security guard, at the very least you call somebody immediately or you just call 911. This security guard seemed to call nobody and more that that he seemed to watch a young girl drowning as if this is not a mortal tragedy. I hope you got my point. If not, it is still ok. I just wish I could talk to the girl’s mother.

I do not believe that the girl drowned in the Missisipi river. I simply find interesting and strange that they say she was in Saint Augustine FL. Also, I have a feeling that her dissaperance has much more to do with Tyrone Power. There is a Facebook page that say she I in Pensacola. I have no clue why they want to say she is in North Florida.

If the girl is still alive, none of her handler will disclose any pictures. They do not need to sell her because they already have enough money. They only people who might be interested in fabricating pictures of her would be reporters, journalists or papparati. It is their job. This is how they survive, by selling pictures of celebrities.

Ylenia is not the first girl who dissapeared. People will always try to get money, a minute of fame or any other sorts of prey from such tragedies. Many people have no clue about the reality of those rich people who rule our countries. The truth is that Ylenia was under a mind control program. She is not the only victim. If she is still alive none of her handlers will disclose any information about her because they do not disclose their dirt to anyone. Nobody can really stay against those who rule those mind control programs from the top because they have too much money. From what I see one of her first handlers was that street musician who is mind contorted himself after all. Lots of children and women are victims. It’s a surreal situation; apparently the girl’s father sent a fax to tv program “chi l’ha visto” (Italian’s AMERICAN MOST WANTED) asking not to show the interview that had been done to Masakela (who has been found in a poor people’s hospital in New Orleans, calling himself POPS). Masakela has been changing names and using false documents for years. Why not listen to him?
