My husband and Scarlett Johansson

IMG_0767 If my husband is late home for dinner this evening, should I be worried by the fact thatscarlettjohansson51 he is spending the day with the stunning Scarlett Johansson?

They are filming together in the hallowed, medieval grounds of Ely, butI doubt Stephen’s name will appear in lights, even though it is his second role as a courtier in a historical blockbuster.

I asked if I could be an extra too for the latest film, The Other Bolyen Girl, a story about the ill-fated Anne Bolyen and her sister Mary, but was told they only had one size 8 costume left - and I could not squeeze into that by any stretch of the imagination.

Last year I auditioned for the The Golden Age, an epic about Elizabeth 1, due to be released very soon, but was not pale and interesting, or waif like enough.

This time, my husband has to wear a grey wig and play the part of an old man. Let’s hope Stephen does not lose his head to Scarlett’s overt and bosomy charms!

*My friend’s son Todd spent his gap year as a film extra and was lucky enough to have a part in Atonement which comes out next month.

  1. I’m soooo jealous!!

  2. Stephen

    Hi
Thanks for all the comments !!!
We have all had to sign a contract and cannot talk about the film !!!! All I can say is that Natalie, Scarlett and Eric were all present and it looked great !!!

  3. I best be getting Stephen’s autograph when i call round to visit on saturday :-) looking forward to seeing you then

  4. Oh how exciting!! He’s quite the dish, I agree. She is gorgeous too, but I prefer Keira Knightly!

  5. Handsome maybe, but I think he looks hilarious!! maybe that’s because when he’s on form he is one of the funniest guys I know.

  6. Lol Elle, so he did come home for dinner
I bet it wasn’t just because Miss Johansson wasn’t there, but because you are his favourite desert (and the cherry on top)

  7. Kevin, I am like you, I go for personality and intelligence rather than looks. A sense of humour and generous nature are essential too.

Anyway, Scarlett turned up today and my husband sat close to her, I’ll let him write about it. He just called to say he is exhausted after standing all day, tired and hungry.

  8. I know, Ellee – you’re right, I jest much and Mrs E-K is beautiful. But in truth I do think you’re more attractive than a Hollywood clone. I’m sure that there is much confusion as to what men find attractive and what women THINK men find attractive.

Kate Moss, Victoria Beckham, Lady Di, Angelina Jolie … not interested. Funnily enough I’d prefer dinner with someone like Caroline Quentin than all of those.

  9. Catriona, Stephen will be thrilled to know he has a fan. And Kevin, I am very flattered, though I know you speak in jest as a lucky man with a gorgeous wife and family.

Unfortunately for Stephen, Miss Johansson did not film in Ely, but a couple of other glamour pusses did, and the paparazzi turned out in force expecting her to be there too. Stephen had a game of golf afterwards, but I am hoping he will write a comment about it tonight, he is filming there again today and had to be on the set at 6am.

  10. That’s the film of the Philippa Gregory book, isn’t it? I’m sure he came home, Ellee!

  11. How can I EVER compete ? :-(

  12. Yes, Mr Seymour is a handsome chap.

  13. Ian Lidster

Oh, how I envy him. I’ve been madly in love with her ever since Lost in Translation, even if she is a child in years. I think she’s wonderfully talented, mature (when you compare her with her contemporaries, apparently intelligent, and very stunning.

  14. ‘The Other Boleyn Girl’ has been one of my favourite novels, so I’m looking forward to seeing the film. How lucky of your hubby to be filming with Scarlett.

Cate Blanchett is another favourite, and loved the movie ‘Elizabeth’. As a result, ‘The Golden Age’ is a must-see movie.

  15. The Atonement now thats a film i must see… and it has got to be better than lady chatterly which we saw at the week-end and thought was rubbish

  16. [Chuckle] Personally, I find the Divine Miss J eminently resistible.

  17. I tell you what, your husband is quite a dishy number.

  18. Elle, I dunno how well yo know your husband
or how good your food is.
but remember the way to a man’s heart is thru his stomach, and if he’s spending the day with Miss Johansson, and he’s late for dinner, maybe his apetite is being satisfied.

It’s all down to what he likes for desert – lol

  19. Auditions. I luv ‘em
