My rhubarb lasagne recipe request from Canada
Posted by Ellee Seymour on Jun 11, 2006 in updates | 1 commentWho could have imagined that a quirky post about my rhubarb lasagne would have aroused so much interest – and globally too!
I was a fresh faced blogger when I described how I threw together this pudding for my friend Scott, an American airforceman living in my Cambridgeshire village, before he headed off for promotional training in the States prior to an assignment in a very undesirable area, possibly Iraq.
Scott has now returned from Alabama and is visiting relatives in Canada. This evening, I received this amazing email from a woman who, it transpired, had heard of my Domestic Goddess culinary skills over the pond as a result of my blog. She was, it transpired, Scott’s aunt, but did not immediately realise our connection:
I am now emailing the recipe to Auntie Carol, hope Scott enjoys it again. Here it is for others who would like to try it:
Boil up some rhubarb with sugar, place a portion in a cooking dish with lasagne on top, then add more cooked rhubarb and lasagne. Finally, add custard on top and flaked almonds and cook in the oven for 30 mins or so. It is so easy to prepare and for some reason, people find it very exciting.
It’s amazing how this recipe has gripped so many’s people’s imagination – and tastebuds! One person emailed me and said it sounded very erotic. People still ask me if it’s for real. Well it is, and it’s scrummy, as Scott will tell you, and a few select others…

OOooo yumm, i may add some apple too
